Darla has been drawn to performing since a young age and was always thrilled with the sparkly costumes and creative choreography of annual ballet and tap recitals. Following her dream of becoming a professional dancer with intensive ballet training, she realized her dancing days had become numbered after a knee injury.

College and life took precedence although performing and entertaining remained in her blood. She recalled how much she had enjoyed reading and telling stories to other children during elementary school.

Could her love for dance and storytelling help transition to acting? She had always been a good listener. Friends often asked her advice. The skill of listening was particularly honed in her career as a dental hygienist; not unlike a hairdresser or bartender. 😉

After initially being cast in roles locally, Darla developed a deep appreciation and love for the performing art of acting which inspired her to pursue this new career. Her life experience of living in different areas of the US along with the amazing professionals in the industry she has met thus far have truly transformed her insight and vision in addition to developing a new passion.

Darla currently lives in Connecticut but can and does work locally in New York and the tri-state area, Chicago, Atlanta, Florida and much of the Midwest.

She enjoys working in comedy and drama, film, TV and theater and will ALWAYS love sequins.
